Residency Focus: During her residency, Monica immersed herself in the local weaving, embroidery, and folk legends of Marin Village. Her project ethically documented the living wisdom of local women, building a dialogue that bridged her Colombian lineage and the legacy of her grandmothers with local traditions. Intuitively incorporating regional textiles, objects, and natural elements into her creations, this period of creative curiosity served as a powerful phase of regenerative growth in her practice.
Practice & Methodology:
Monica Jaramillo is a multidisciplinary artist, Jungian Art Therapist, and regenerative leadership advocate. As the founder of Rosita & Pepa and the annual Grandma’s March summit, her life’s work has been dedicated to keeping multigenerational feminine wisdom alive.
Her practice investigates the intersection of ancestral feminine wisdom, heritage, and collective memory. Through the lens of Jungian Art Therapy, she explores how cultures that preserved their roots offer a mirror for personal and collective healing. In her projects, she created circles of belonging where participants acted as artisans of their own lives, slowing down to return to the handmade, connecting with sensorial memories, and weaving ancestral stories into the fabric of the present.
